Many women rebuilding their lives after domestic abuse face barriers that go far beyond safety.
Empowering Recovery Through Advice, Advocacy and Digital Inclusion is a support programme from Soul Sisters: Empowering People designed to help women regain financial stability, confidence and independence.
Through practical workshops, digital support and one-to-one advocacy, we’re helping women access the tools, knowledge and guidance they need to move forward.
This programme offers a combination of group learning, digital support and personalised advocacy, ensuring women receive both practical skills and individual guidance.
Our in-person group sessions provide practical guidance on managing finances and navigating the benefits system.
Topics include:
• Budgeting and money management
• Understanding Universal Credit and benefit changes
• Housing benefit and financial support options
• Debt awareness and managing repayments
• Building financial confidence after crisis
These sessions provide a safe, supportive environment where women can learn new skills and ask questions without judgement.
Digital exclusion can make everyday tasks incredibly difficult, from applying for benefits to searching for work.
Our digital inclusion sessions support women to build confidence with technology, including:
• Setting up and using email
• Completing online forms
• Creating CVs
• Job searching
• Accessing online courses and training
• Navigating online services safely
Devices such as laptops and tablets will be available during sessions, ensuring everyone can participate.
For women experiencing urgent financial or administrative challenges, we provide personalised advocacy support.
This can include:
• Help completing benefit forms
• Writing letters to creditors
• Support with disability-related claims such as PIP
• Guidance navigating complex systems
• Crisis support during financial hardship
Our advocates work alongside each woman to help them access the support they are entitled to.
This programme is designed for women who have experienced domestic abuse and are currently facing financial or digital barriers.
Many participants may be experiencing:
• Delays or challenges with Universal Credit
• Housing or rent concerns
• Debt or financial instability
• Difficulty accessing online systems or services
• Reduced confidence following abuse
You do not need to face these challenges alone.
